The components of this website are the outputs of this project: 1. Research, 2. Cases, and 3. Action.
You can send feedback on the project and the website here.
1. Research
Research Catalogue + Knowledge Mobilization
Make The Case is built on research.
This research is identified through trends in data and dialogue hosted by the two Partners and relates equally to both networks.
Research provided through this site is curated by a Working Group around a Theme, and informed by Subject Matter Expert input with leadership from Senior Research + Advocacy Advisors.
Find out more about Themes here.
Our Research Catalogue focuses on Canadian sources and includes relevant International insight. We provide direct links to sources for all publications.
Our Fact Sheets consolidate statistics and data trends, matched with success cases and organizations with an active interest in making the case for the value of arts and culture in Canada, across remote, rural, suburban, and urban municipalities.
Research Snapshots provide a quick dive into selected resources. For background, check Research Impact, Canada’s leader in knowledge mobilization.
2. Cases
Case Bank + Case Snapshots
Make The Case is built on success cases.
Cases provided through this site are curated by a Working Group and informed by Subject Matter Expert input and leadership by Senior Research + Advocacy Advisors.
We invite you to suggest an example of an advocacy initiative to help us build our success case bank. The case bank focuses on advocacy initiatives in Canada.
Our Case Bank focuses on Canadian examples of people and organizations successfully making the case for investments in arts and culture. These investments include time, money, attention, relationships, and reciprocity.
We provide direct links to organizations for all cases in our Case Bank.
Our Case Snapshots provide a deeper dive into selected cases and are based on interviews with people who have made the case for the value of arts and culture in Canada, and represent multiple perspectives across remote, rural, suburban, and urban municipalities.
3. Action
Five-Step Guides, Hello, Case-maker! Sessions + Sector-Sourced Examples
Make The Case is built to move people from awareness and analysis into action.
Our Five Steps to Make the Case guides are curated by a Working Group with insights from Subject Matter Experts, Learning + Development professionals, and Senior Research + Advocacy Advisors.
We invite you to share your sector examples in two ways:
- Skills that people use when advocating for the value of arts and culture
- Organizational initiatives in Canada that have already successfully advocated for investments in arts and culture
These contributions will help us to build our Five Steps series and our Case Bank (in consultation with the organizations involved).
Our Five Steps to Make the Case guides are informed by our Research Catalogue, Case Bank, Case Snapshots, and real-world examples. These sector-sourced insights highlight how individuals and organizations have successfully secured investments in arts and culture across Canada.
The Five Steps series is focused on advocacy skills that are tailored to Canadian economic, government, and regional/local contexts.
For those looking for a structured, efficient approach, our Hello, Case-Maker! sessions provide a streamlined, action-oriented experience. In under an hour, participants use data and resources from this website to apply the Five Steps guides and drive impactful change.
