Make the Case

Welcome to
Make The Case!

The purpose of this project is:

  • To demonstrate the ways that arts and culture permeate all aspects of Canadian civic life and society
  • To assist individuals and organizations to make the case for increased support of arts and culture to decision-makers and investors.

We want you to make the case for the value of arts and culture:

  • More often
  • With greater success
  • In less time

Advocacy action to maintain and increase investment, broadly defined

We designed this site so that you can build a compelling case to maintain or increase investment in arts and culture, from federal advocacy to engaging your local Chamber of Commerce, to resource exchange with peer organizations.

To this end, our goal is to:

  • Focus attention
  • Filter content volume
  • Simplify your advocacy actions

In order to do this, we offer:

  • Hello, Case-Maker! Sessions to complete one advocacy action in under an hour
  • Illustrated Five-Step Guides based on sector leader methods
  • Success Cases in Canada
  • Research + Theme Context

Four Themes!

Our themes demonstrate the ways that arts and culture permeate all aspects of Canadian civic life and society.

Theme content includes Canadian Context, Spotlights on current trends, events and reports, Media, Organizations, and Fact Sheets, along with Research and Cases.

The first three themes (Economic Impact, Cultural Vibrancy, and Social Cohesion) are essential to demonstrating the essential contribution of arts and culture to decision-makers beyond the sector.

More practice-based themes like Arts in Health cover a wide range of tangible topics that together provide a cohesive picture of the distinct value of arts and culture in Canada, in this current moment.

We want to hear about your arts advocacy needs and successes.
